Each one looks at skin from a different side: collagen made by skin cells, the skin pigment melanin, the SNARE protein complex, actin and blood-vessel growth signaling (in lab and animal studies), and LL-37, part of the cathelicidin family of germ-fighting peptides found in sweat on skin. One of them, SNAP-8, comes from cosmetics research and has no published studies of its own. Picked so no two do the same job.

Studied for: collagen production by skin cells [fibroblasts] (lab studies) and copper binding [Cu(II) complex]
Studied for: the SNARE protein complex (lab studies on its parent peptide, Argireline) and no published studies on this exact peptide
Studied for: the MC1R receptor on pigment cells and eumelanin, the dark skin pigment
Studied for: the cathelicidin peptide family and immune cells [macrophages and neutrophils] (mouse studies)
Studied for: actin, a cell-scaffold protein [G-actin binding] and tendon tissue (rat studies)
Studied for: blood-vessel growth signaling [VEGFR2] (cell and animal studies), tendon cells [fibroblasts] (lab studies) and the gut lining (animal studies)
