Written against how this operation actually works — the 211 SKUs on fourteen shelves, the per-lot analysis behind them, and the parts that are not finished yet. Where something is unfinished, it says so.

Ordering

8 answers

Placing one, changing one, and who is allowed to.

How do I place an order?

Browse the 211 SKUs from the shop, pick the strength or pack size on the product page, add it to the cart drawer and open checkout. Checkout takes your email and shipping address, lists every line you are buying, and shows the full total including a flat domestic shipping rate before anything is confirmed. There is no account wall at any step of that.

Do I need an account, or is guest checkout enough?

Guest checkout is the complete path, not a degraded one. You can order without ever creating an account, and a guest order stays fully trackable afterwards at order tracking with the order number and the email address you used. An account adds order history, saved addresses and subscription controls; you can create one at any point, before or after you buy.

Can I change or cancel an order after I place it?

If the parcel has not been packed yet, yes — email us with the order number and we will amend the lines, correct the address, or cancel and refund in full. Once a carrier label has been created the parcel is committed and it becomes a return instead, which is set out on the returns page. Because orders placed before 2pm ET on a business day are dispatched the same day, that window is genuinely short, so send the message rather than sitting on it.

Is there a minimum order?

No. No minimum order value, no minimum quantity, and no forced multi-pack. A single vial or a single bottle is a legitimate order and it is packed and shipped exactly like a large one. The only volume thresholds we run are on the wholesale side, and those are about lot allocation and paperwork rather than a floor you have to clear.

Can I buy in bulk, or on a purchase order?

Yes. Bulk and institutional buying runs off the standard checkout so that lots can be consolidated and documentation issued properly — the wholesale page describes what changes as volume grows and what paperwork we need. Purchase orders and net terms are handled case by case with a named contact on each side. Open with a wholesale enquiry and include the institution name and roughly what you need.

Who is allowed to buy from Seratide?

You must be at least 21 — which is why the site asks before it lets you in — and you must be buying as a qualified researcher or on behalf of a research organisation. By ordering you confirm the material stays in a laboratory setting and is handled, stored and disposed of under applicable law and good laboratory practice; the full undertaking is on the Research Use Only page. We do not sell to anyone intending personal use, and we will cancel and refund an order where that becomes clear.

Can I mix compounds, supplements and lab supplies in one order?

Yes — the whole catalogue sits in one cart, across all fourteen shelves and all 3 reading bands (Foundations, Targeted Research, Advanced Compounds). Lines that need cold packs are packed to protect them and the rest of the order travels with them, unless splitting the shipment is the only way to protect a temperature-sensitive line. Every item still carries its own lot label and its own QR, so a mixed parcel stays verifiable item by item.

Can I place an order by email instead?

For a standard catalogue order the site is faster and it captures the address cleanly, so we would rather you used it. For an institutional order that needs a quote, a purchase-order number, or a signed research-use acknowledgement first, email is the right route — start at contact. We never take card numbers by email or over the phone, and nobody from Seratide will ever ask you for one that way.

Products & quality

What we sell, what is measured, and how to read a lot report.

What does Research Use Only actually mean here?

It means every item on the site — the vitamins and minerals exactly as much as the lyophilised compounds — is supplied for in-vitro laboratory research and development only. Nothing here is a drug, a food, a cosmetic, a dietary supplement or a medical device, and nothing is for human or animal consumption. Familiar names appear on these shelves as research materials, not as products for personal use. The full policy is on the RUO page, and no statement on this site has been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.

What is a certificate of analysis, and what is on yours?

A certificate of analysis is the laboratory record for one specific lot: what was tested, by which method, against which specification, and what came back. Ours are per lot rather than per product, so the report you open is the analysis of the material in your hand and not a brand-level PDF reused across a year of production. The vocabulary changes with the form, because lyophilised material, supplement-form material and lab hardware are genuinely different questions. Every lot page also states that it is an analytical record and not a clearance for any use.

What is the difference between identity and potency?

Identity answers whether this is the right molecule or the right element. Potency answers how much of it is actually present, measured against what the label claims. They are separate tests and a lot has to pass both — correctly identified material at the wrong strength fails exactly as hard as the wrong material at the right strength. That is why a lot page names the identity method alongside the potency figure instead of collapsing both into a single reassuring number.

Why HPLC-UV for some things and ICP-MS for others?

They answer different questions using different physics. HPLC-UV pushes a sample through a column, separates it into its components and quantifies organic molecules — vitamins, amino acids, botanical markers, peptides — by how they travel and how they absorb light. ICP-MS turns the sample into a plasma and counts elements by mass, which is what you need for elemental mineral content and for the heavy-metal contaminant panel. So an elemental mineral is measured by ICP-MS, an organic molecule by HPLC-UV, and the heavy-metal screen is ICP-MS wherever it applies.

Why does potency sometimes read above 100%?

Because potency is expressed as a percentage of label claim, not as purity. A capsule labelled 400 mg that assays at 102.1% of claim holds roughly 409 mg — the printed figure is the target, and the assay is what was actually found. A 90–110% window is the ordinary acceptance range for supplement-form material, and a result outside it is a failed lot rather than a bonus. Purity, by contrast, can never exceed 100%, because it is a share of a total.

What gets tested on a lyophilised compound?

Three things, in the peptide vocabulary: purity by HPLC as an area percentage of the chromatogram, identity by mass spectrometry (LC-MS) confirming the observed mass matches the expected one, and endotoxin. Appearance, the analysis date and the methods used are recorded alongside them, and the chromatogram is drawn on the lot page rather than described in prose. Heavy-metal and microbial panels are not the right questions for this class of material, so they are not pasted onto the report to pad it out. The catalogue carries 69 lyophilised SKUs, led by the Research Peptides shelf.

What gets tested on a capsule, tablet, softgel, powder or liquid?

The supplement vocabulary: identity by HPLC-UV or ICP-MS depending on whether the target is an organic molecule or an element, potency as a percentage of label claim, heavy metals (lead, arsenic, cadmium, mercury), microbial limits and residual solvents. Contaminant rows are reported as Conforms against a stated specification limit rather than as an invented figure, because that is how a contract lab reports a limit test. Every one of those rows has to pass before a lot is released, and it applies to all our softgel, tablet, liquid, capsule and powder forms alike.

Are the lab supplies tested as well?

They get an incoming lot record rather than a chemical assay, which is the honest instrument for hardware. That record covers material specification, packaging integrity and lot traceability back to the supplier, each reported as conformance. It is the right question for a syringe, a sterile filter, a vial rack or a bottle of bacteriostatic water — demanding HPLC purity on a box of syringes would be theatre. You can see the shelf at Lab Supplies & Reconstitution, currently 11 SKUs.

Who runs the tests?

Third-party analytical labs, named on each individual lot report rather than gestured at as an unnamed independent lab. The name sits next to the analysis date and the list of methods, so you can see who produced the numbers you are being asked to believe and go and look them up. Seratide does not run its own assay and then describe the result as independent.

Are the numbers on the lot pages final?

Not yet, and every lot page says so on the page itself rather than in a buried footnote. The analytical values currently displayed are placeholder data standing in until production reports land against live lots; the report structure, the methods and the specification limits are the real ones. We would rather show the shape of the report and label it honestly than publish a finished-looking certificate that is not.

How should I store what arrives?

Sealed lyophilised vials belong somewhere cool and dark and should stay sealed until they are needed; once reconstituted with bacteriostatic water they belong in a refrigerator. Material in softgel, tablet, liquid, capsule and powder form belongs somewhere cool and dry, out of direct light, in its original sealed container. Every product page carries its own handling note, and that note beats this general guidance wherever the two differ. All of that is laboratory handling guidance — it is not guidance about human use, which we cannot give.

Lot verification

5 answers

The QR, the code, and what to do when it does not resolve.

What does the QR on the label do?

It opens the verification page for that one lot — the exact material in your hand, not the product line it belongs to. There is no app to install and no sign-in: the page is public, so a collaborator, a reviewer or a purchasing office can open it without an account or a shared password. Because the QR is printed per lot, two bottles of the same product from different lots resolve to two different pages.

How do I verify a lot without scanning it?

Type the code into the verification page. Lot codes take the shape of SRT-9954-VIT — a prefix, a numeric lot and a short suffix tied to the material. Each one also has a permanent address of the form /verify/ plus the code, so you can link it straight into a notebook or a message.

What if the lot code does not resolve?

Stop, and tell us before the material is used for anything. Check the ordinary causes first: a transposed character, a zero read as the letter O, or the code from a different item in the same parcel. If it still does not resolve, send a photo of the label and your order number through a verification enquiry and we will either produce the correct lot record or take the item back at our cost. A code that does not resolve is precisely the failure this system exists to surface, so we would much rather hear about it.

Does the code on the page have to match the label exactly?

Yes — character for character. If the code on the page and the code on the label differ at all, regard the item as unverified and contact us before it goes near an experiment. A mismatch means the link between the analysis and the physical unit is broken, and no amount of confidence in the underlying material repairs that. It is also why a return requires the original lot label to be intact and legible.

Can I share a lot page with a collaborator?

Yes, and it is built to be shared. Each verification is a permanent public link with nothing personal in it — no order number, no name, no account — so it can go into a lab notebook, a method section or an email to a purchasing office. If you need documentation covering many lots at once, for instance across a bulk allocation, that is handled through wholesale.

Shipping

Cut-offs, carriers, cold packs, packaging and borders.

When does my order leave?

Orders placed before 2pm ET on a business day are prepared and dispatched the same day. Orders placed after the cut-off, at a weekend or on a public holiday go out the next business day. Tracking is emailed the moment the carrier label is created, so a quiet inbox usually means the label has not been cut yet rather than that something has gone wrong.

Which carriers do you use, and how do I track?

Domestic parcels move with tracked US carriers, selected per parcel on transit speed and on how long the contents can reasonably spend in the network. The tracking number is emailed at label creation and it also sits against the order at order tracking, which works for guest orders using only the order number and email. The shipping page has the full detail.

What ships cold?

Temperature-sensitive lines are packed to protect stability, with cold packs and insulation where the route or the season calls for it — that mostly means the 69 lyophilised SKUs and a handful of liquids. A cold pack arriving soft is normal and is not on its own a sign of a problem; a warm parcel that should have been cold is worth a message with photographs. Sealed lyophilised material is more robust in transit than most people assume, which is why it travels dry and sealed.

Is the packaging discreet?

Yes. Everything travels in plain, unbranded outer packaging — no product names, no molecule names, no Seratide branding on the outside label. The paperwork identifying the contents sits inside the parcel, not printed on it. This is standard practice for research supply and you do not have to request it.

Do you ship internationally?

To select destinations, where doing so is lawful. You are the importer of record: duties, import taxes and any licence or permit your jurisdiction requires are yours to arrange, and customs may open a parcel and ask for documentation. Some destinations we simply cannot serve, and where an order cannot be shipped lawfully we cancel and refund it in full rather than send it and let it be seized. The customs detail is on the shipping page.

What if a parcel is lost or arrives damaged?

For a domestic parcel that has not moved for several business days past its expected delivery — or an international one well past its window — send us the order number and we will open a carrier trace. If a parcel is confirmed lost we replace or refund it; you are not left arguing with a carrier on our behalf. Damage on arrival is a returns matter: photograph the outer box, the packing and the item before you unpack any further, then follow the returns process.

Returns

4 answers

The short version. The full policy sits one page over.

What can I return?

Unopened, unused, sealed items in their original packaging, inside the return window set out on the returns policy, with the lot label intact, legible and matching what we shipped. The seal and the label are the whole point: a unit whose chain of custody is broken can never be re-sold or re-verified, so it cannot go back on a shelf. Start one through a returns request with your order number.

What can never be returned?

Anything opened or reconstituted, bacteriostatic water once its seal is broken, sterile single-use supplies whose packaging has been opened, and custom or bulk allocations produced against a specific order. None of that is an inventory preference — once a seal is broken there is no way to establish what is in the container, and re-selling it would break the exact guarantee the rest of this site rests on. Damaged or incorrect items are handled separately and are not caught by this rule.

How is a refund issued, and who pays return postage?

Refunds go back to the original payment method once the return has been received and inspected; how quickly it then appears is your card issuer's timing rather than ours. Return postage is on you for a change of mind and on Seratide whenever the fault is ours — a wrong item, a wrong lot, a packing error or transit damage. In those cases we send the label; we do not ask you to pay first and claim it back.

What if an independent re-test comes back below spec?

Send us the report. Where a competent independent lab tests the lot and returns a result below its stated specification, we refund or replace in full including shipping both ways, and we hold the remaining units of that lot back while we take it up with the original lab. That commitment is what makes per-lot publishing worth anything at all — a verification system nobody can falsify is just marketing. The detail is on the returns policy.

Accounts

5 answers

Optional, genuinely. Including how to delete one.

Why would I create an account?

For order history you do not have to dig out of your inbox, shipping addresses saved so you are not retyping an institution's address every time, and subscriptions you can manage yourself. It is optional in the real sense: checkout does not require one, does not nag for one, and holds nothing back if you never make one. Sign up at /account/signup, or sign in at /account/login.

I ordered as a guest — will it appear in an account later?

Not automatically, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise. A guest order stays fully trackable at /help/track with the order number and the email address it was placed with. If you want a historic guest order attached to a new account, email us from that same address with the order number and we will do it by hand.

I forgot my password — how do I reset it?

There is no automated reset email, because no email service is wired up and we are not going to show you a button that pretends a message is on its way. Password reset is done by a person: write to us from the address on the account through contact and we will confirm it is you and reset it. The sign-in page says the same thing rather than offering a link that goes nowhere.

How do subscriptions work, and can I stop one?

Any line ordered with the subscribe option becomes a subscription on your account, with its own restock cadence, listed at /account/subscriptions. Pause and cancel are real controls that write to the record immediately — no phone call, no retention flow, no are-you-sure carousel designed to wear you down. If you ordered a subscription as a guest you will need an account to manage it, and the order confirmation says so at the time.

How do I delete my account, and what happens to the data?

From /account/settings, behind a confirmation step. It genuinely erases the account record and every session attached to it rather than flagging the row inactive, so it cannot be undone — export or note down anything you still need first. Business records we are required to keep, such as the record of a completed sale, are covered by the privacy policy.

Payment

4 answers

Where this genuinely stands today, without the badges.

What can I pay with?

Major credit and debit cards at launch. We are deliberately not listing a processor, a wallet, a card-brand badge or a crypto option, because the merchant gateway has not been signed — and printing logos for a provider you have not chosen is a small lie that tells you something about the bigger ones. When it is live, this answer changes and the checkout page will state exactly what it takes.

Is checkout open right now?

No. Checkout walks the full flow — cart, shipping details, order review — and then honestly declines to charge, because the gateway is still being provisioned. No card number is collected and no money moves. If you need material before that changes, tell us and we will say exactly where the process stands.

Do you store card details?

There is nothing to store today, because checkout does not collect a card number at all. When the gateway is live, card data will be captured by the gateway's own hosted field and exchanged for a token, so raw card numbers will not sit on a Seratide server or inside our order records. Nobody from Seratide will ever ask you for a card number by email or over the phone.

What currency, and what about tax and duties?

Every price in the catalogue is in US dollars and is shown before any tax that may apply. Import duties and taxes on an international order are never included in what you pay us — they are levied by your own customs authority and are the importer's responsibility, which is covered on the shipping page. Shipping itself is a flat rate, shown in the order summary before you confirm.
